Māori cloaks. Our artist creates these cloaks from faux fur and are therefore quite cost effective.

The cloak comes with a rooster feather trim at top.

These cloaks are used by performing Maori cultural groups in Rotorua and Christchurch.

The faux-fur cloaks are used for ceremonies (graduations, weddings, tangi, unveilings, birthdays) as well as for Kapa Haka performances.

The cloak comes with a draw string cord means the cloak can be brought in or out to fit different size adults. And they are also fully lined with faux suede and washable.

Size Māori faux-fur cloak: 150cm wide, 125cm high plus cords to tie.

The feathers used are imported into New Zealand after disinfectant treatment, fumigated and cleared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

As New Zealand’s import restrictions are the strictest in the world this product can be safely sent or taken into any other country in the world.

Note: Though "korowai" is the term that is generally accepted today to describe a "Māori cloak" it was in fact a particular kind of Māori cloak, emphasis placed more on the creation of an elaborate "taniko" border.

"Kahu huruhuru" was the term used for a feather cloak
