Bookmark Designs:

• Tekoteko design
  The Tekoteko represents the human form and crafted to represent ancient tribal ancestors who instill protection and guardianship over the tribe. They are commonly found as freestanding statues, mounted to the gable of a whare (house) or carved into the central poles of the Māori meeting houses to protect the iwi (tribe).


• Koru design
  The koru represents new life, new beginnings, growth, harmony .


• Hei Tiki design
  The hei tiki symbolises ancestors, fertility, and protection. Hei tiki are often passed down as an heirloom to gain mana (prestige). The design typically features a tilted head, large paua shell eyes, and hands on thighs.  A hei tiki is considered a powerful good-luck charm, serving as a protective talisman that wards off evil spirits. A tiki also brings good fortune and represents fertility, wisdom, and authority.


• Sheep design
  A lot of sheep in New Zealand, 23.6 million (June 2024, Stats NZ ). This bookmark is crafted from eco-friendly, renewable, and strong bamboo plywood and screen-printed with a montage of sheep, with a leather tassel tied to the top.
