It was just great to have the Volvo Ocean Race stop over in Auckland. We watched them arrive, we watched them in port, we watched the in-port yacht race, we watched them leave. Love sailing...

The big move
Aotearoa.co.nz moved premises... We are  now right at the waterfront... overlooking the Waitemata harbour. Waitemata means 'sparkling waters'. LOVE our new place. We have a huge pohutukawa tree at the front of our new place. It looked beautiful in full bloom.

Devonport, Auckland, Aotearoa (New Zealand).

New artist: Silivenusi
We received a phone call from Cindy; if we would like to have a look at her husband's greenstone carvings. So we did.

Our new carver is Silivenusi, who grew up in Tonga and has been carving for more than 15 years in his chosen mediums paraoa (bone) and pounamu (NZ jade). He has been trained and mentored by greenstone carver Peter Akker who was taught by master greenstone carver Hepi Maxwell in the early 80’s.
Silivenusi has developed a beautiful, clean, detailed style and specialises in adornment and small sculptural works.
Silivenusi’s love for the beauty of pounamu, bone and the unique culture of Aotearoa (New Zealand) is what inspires his work. His work can be found in many international and national private collections.

We are truly over the moon that we can feature Silevenusi's work on our Aotearoa.co.nz site.

Our new e-commerce site is LIVE as from 1 May 2013

And to celebrate, Aotearoa.co.nz will add free Whittaker's chocolate squares with ALL orders till 25 December.
