All carvings that are part of this artwork are made from Nephrite Jade. Pounamu is the Maori name for jade. Greenstone is the name given by the Europeans when they first arrived.

Description: Kauri Box with fully carved central head surrounded by pierced manaia forms containing 2 adzes, three ear pendants, tiki, hook, cloak pin, and pekapeka, in bright green, Nephrite Jade with green inclusions.
