A waka
is a Maori canoe... The Maori are believed to have travelled to
Aotearoa (Maori name for New Zealand) in waka (canoes) from the
islands of eastern Polynesia. Tall totara and kauri trees enabled
Maori to build bigger waka. These waka could be over 25 meters
and could carry over one hundred people.
The glass
waka on our site are hand moulded and hand-etched with Maori design,
like the koru (representing new life, new beginnings, growth,
movement. Also the fern is handetched on some of the waka. The
fern is also a well-known New Zealand symbol.
The waka
make a wonderful gift and represent your journey in life...

The waka are
available in different colours:
black, orange/red, yellow, lime, lagoon, emerald, jade,
turquoise, aquamarine, cobalt, pale cobalt (no more clear ones).
